We prefer you register ahead of time to make getting into the building easier. Its going to be hard to get in touch with Jeremie Corcoan the day of the show with problems, and I’m not sure how much latitude they will give us the first year.

Two rounds of qualifying, and Mains to follow. We will have a better gauge on the feature duration when we get on site. We were faced with a space and safety issue in Harrisburg, and had to adjust feature length to accommodate.

We may/may not have to do the same. RC Competition Raceway (Sean Canfield) is interested in having a challenge race, non-point, in Solvay, 5 min from the fairgrounds Saturday after the Small Addictions NEMB Tour Race.

News from the Series

The ever-exciting Small Addictions RC North East MudBoss Series blasts back into action for 2018 on January 24.

The series has reorganized for the 2018 season. For starters, the year has been broken into thirds. On top of that, there will be only two series running concurrent through each leg of the season.

The first third of the year, including around a dozen dates focusing on indoor tracks, will stretch from January to May. The second leg, focusing on outdoor tracks, will race between May and September, and the final third will be a mix of tracks, and conclude mid-December with the finale at Small Addictions RC in Auburn, NY.

The ultimate chase will be for the North East MudBoss Series Championship, crowned for each third of the year by calculating driver’s points totals. In the opening third of the year, nine of the total 12 races will be tabulated to crown a champion.

The other series will be the Charter Championship, which will allow drivers to count bonus points for home track efforts into their totals. A home track championship is worth 1,000 bonus points, and gives incentive to the drivers to support the tracks the tour will visit throughout 2018.

Indoor member tracks include: Small Addictions RC (Auburn, NY), Radio Hill Raceway (Dundee, NY), RC Competition Raceway (Solvay, NY), Big Dog RC (Stoneboro, PA), Xtreme Carpet Raceway (Bay City, MI), Lake Hobby (Geneva on the Lake, Ohio), Lucky 13 Raceway (Ohio), VanEmmons RC (Westfield PA).

The season will open January 24 at Small Addictions for a pit-stop 200 lapper. There will be one more race – yet to be finalized – before Motorama in Mid-February. Motorama, a massive racing trade show held at the Agricultural Center in Harrisburg, PA will include two days of racing for the NEMB Series competitors. It is the first time the NEMB has been in action at Motorama, and will be on the temporary loose dirt track adjacent to the RC derby car pit. JMW Motorsports will assist, and RC Comp is bringing their scoring system to help keep order during the racing. Each feature Feb. 17 and 18 is set for 150 laps.

The tour returns to New York for a 150-lapper at Small Addictions during the Finger Lakes Speedworld racing expo at Finger Lakes Mall in Auburn, and then heads off for two days of racing March 10-11 at the Motorsports Expo at the New York State Fairgroudns in Syracuse. The action will be on the slick concrete surface and RC Comp Raceway will again be providing timing and scoring.

At Motorama in Harrisburg and Motorsports Expo in Syracuse, drivers will use the spec SCT tires that came with slash 2wd kits labeled BF Goodrich, Kuhmo or “Spec.”

A busy April awaits after that, with racing planned at RC Competition Raceway in Solvay, NY April 8, then a double-header in western PA and eastern Ohio April 14-15.

The tour will visit Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio’s Lake Hobby before going to Lucky 13 RC in Cochranton, PA the next morning.

The season will conclude May 5 with a 150-lapper at the tight and popular VanEmmons RC in Westfield, PA and then May 9 at Small Addictions with a 200-lap finale.

Another new twist to the season will be the Champions 200 race, held in December. Two events in each third of the season will qualify drivers into the special event, locking in six drivers. A seventh driver will be added the day-of. In the first leg of 2018, the 200-lap main at Motorsports Expo and the Season Finale will be identified as the two qualifiers.
